Prime Minister Imran Khan has once again called on the civil and police bureaucracy to improve governance and root out corruption as it is doing more harm than good to the country’s economy.
Talking to the civil and police bureaucracy in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat via video link, he said, “Corruption starts from the elite class of a society.”
Reiterating that there would be no political pressure on the bureaucracy, the Prime Minister said that officers should work on merit and introduce carrot and stick policy in their respective departments. “I will stand by the officers who work on merit.”
Mr. Khan said that the government has given maximum facilities and privileges and allowances to the bureaucracy and now it is their turn to deliver and give results. He commended the Punjab government for taking appropriate and effective measures to control the spread of Corona virus in the province.
At the groundbreaking ceremony of the Ravi City project, the Prime Minister said that the PTI government had spent its first two years in a very difficult time as it had to save the country from default and corruption for the NRO. Was saved from immorality. “In return for the NRO, he offered to help the government with the Kashmir issue as well as the passage of the FATF bill,” he added.
He said that Ravi City project of Rs. 5 trillion would create lakhs of jobs as 40 industries are associated with construction sector.
